Really great tapas menu here. The antipasto was very well prepared, and the prosciutto wrapped scallops and beef carpaccio are high end. Minor gripes: unaware meatball had pork in it, and like most Italian places in Burlington area, not too much of a seafood menu to speak of. Otherwise, excellent service and atmosphere, and I'll be sure to return. There's still a lot more for me to try.

I really wanted to like this place, but the food is mediocre at best and the service didn't impress me either. The environment is cozy and there were only 2 other tables seated so it was very empty. That's fine with me. Our waiter was attentive and the service went at a good pace, but she poured water into my date's soda cup when she was refilling my water! Honest mistake, but she didn't have many customers so she doesn't have an excuse. She did offer a free refill, but that just made me question the service. The reason this place doesn't have a higher rating is due to the food. They ran out of the duck special I really wanted to try at 8 pm. The two dishes I did try are both small tapas: #Beef Wellington - good. Crispy puff pastry crust on the outside and juicy on the inside. It wasn't memorable for me so I can only say it was 3 stars. #Grilled Octopus - I was impressed that the octopus actually wasn't tough like I've had in some places. It's a major faux pas for me when the octopus is tough, but it was a bit burnt and I'm not a fan of that. It didn't taste bad, especially with the delicious sauce they had. They should've put some more sauce on the bed of potatoes instead of just the octopus. The potatoes tasted bland. #Cannoli - very basic. I wish the inside was more creamy. It is very small so be mindful of that. Not as sweet as your typical desserts. Overall, I didn't dislike the food, but I didn't really like it either. The preparation technique could be better. I feel that I can make the same level of food in terms of tastiness so I don't plan on returning. I'd definitely recommend trying the specials. The sauce on the grilled octopus really redeemed it because otherwise it'd be a horrible dish. My favorite out of the two was beef wellington. Also, as a side note, my date said it reminded him of Barcelona tapas so that speaks to the atmosphere and presentation. Just make sure not to have high expectations when it comes to the taste of the food.

This place looked promising and the food itself looked great. The chopped salads were large and has a good citrus flavor. The bruschetta appetizer was mushy and the "charred crostini" was just burnt white bread. The mussels looked appetizing at first and were tolerable at first but by the 5th or 6th I had to spit it out. The broth was essentially chicken stock with tomatoes and tasted as if they hadn't really cooked the ingredients together. The wait staff was friendly and helpful and I had high hopes for this place but I won't be going back any time soon.

I love this restaurant! The hostess greets you with a smile and the staff is more than accommodating. It's unbelievable that this used to be a KFC- what a difference!!! The decor will put you at ease and the extensive menu was built to please. My entree (chicken parm with homemade pasta) was seriously one of the best meals I've eaten out. Not a bad thing to say.

Amazing place for lunch. Especially on Wednesdays as tapas are half off. The paella is as good as I've had pretty much anywhere on the east coast. The shrimp, muscles, and clams were served on top of the rice mixture. Perfectly steamed. The trio of sliders were great. Personally, I would have put a dollop of slaw on the pulled pork to have s bit of taste and texture contrast. Coffee was better than average. Tiramisu... Now there are two schools of tiramisu- one is heavily soggy with the dairy stuff and the other is a lighter cake style. Theirs is the second. Highly recommended with coffee. I will be going back for multiple Wednesday lunches. Sooner or later, I will try out their dinners, but when there is an abundance of tapas to choose from, why mess with it?

I live in the 'hood, walking distance to Rustico's. I was so excited to have a cozy place to walk to..maybe catch a game or sit at the bar with friends and have some comfort food. Not happening here....I met my 20 something sons for beer, fries and a game..what could go wrong with that? Well...the glass racks are hung directly in front of the small, mute flat screens...;-(( Fries...well..it was all about the presentation? Really, I mean french fries. OK..try again...lunch with a friend. My Cuban sandwich was so sad, I took it home and fixed it. Here is the deal...this could be a nice, cozy space. Those of us who live and/or work in the South End want to have a local spot. The tile floor and cold surroundings and pricey, average food, don't make me want to go back. That being said....with some redoing of the menu and and some tweaking perhaps the place could have some soul and friendliness. Locals? That's who your business will be here.

I have been a big fan of Juniors in Colchester for a long time, love the authentic Italian dishes! We went to Juniors Rustico to try it out, and we're not disappointed! There are obviously differences between this restaurant and their others, but that's to be expected, right? Different name, different food! The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, the food is delicious, though it is more expensive than there other restaurants. However, the quality and attention to detail is high too! We will definitely be returning!

We dined here on a Friday evening. Service was good, but honestly the food was mediocre at best. Steamed mussels were not fresh. Caesar salad was what you'd expect in a diner. Pizza was pasty. Only one entrée was worth the money. We could have eaten better at Chili's for half the price. Sorry Junior's, you need to amp up the quality a bit before you'll earn my business again.

My wife and I had a very pleasant experience. Arrived around 6pm, plenty of tables available. Self-seating, which I think has chance for inefficient seating, we saw a couple at a table for four. Service was friendly, attentive and quick (very surprising for the second week after opening). We had a beet salad, which was appropriately dressed, fresh and flavorful. But the real winner was the rigatoni, it had kale and squash and a broth that I could drink with a straw. Will definitely come back.

Firstly this restaurant is rustic, bricks and natural wood and low lights. Last night was my first outing to Juniors Rustico. Being Friday night it was absolutely jumping, it was not full till we were ready to leave, then at 9pm there was a line at the door. The level of noise was rather intolerable, I could not hear my husband across the table because we were surrounded by literally howling people. I don't think there is anything a restaurant can do about that, after all people are paying good money to have a good time you can't go and hush them. None the less there was a smattering of two somes , a table with kids, that I am sure would have appreciated a little less noise. The service was excellent the young lady who waited on us was very prompt and the food got to our table HOT. My husband is on this kick of linguini with clams and he declared Rustico's superior to the one in Colchester. Indeed the clams were still in the shells and there was plenty of them. My goodness a place that serves Tapas, just what I would love. Unfortunately this is not the Tapas presented in a Spanish restaurant, so call it small plates, appetizers whatever. We ordered the calamari which although small (squid) was excellent, lots of squid nicely breaded and fried, not a speck of oil and hot to the last bite. I am a French Fry person so I am always tempted to try the fries at a new restaurant, these were good and plentiful. The beet salad with two kinds of beets and some goat cheese was good if over dressed, way too much dressing. The bruchetta was not that great just alright. The breads used for the bruchetta, along side of the pasta and the salad was excellent and chargrilled. May go back at a quieter time.

Party of 9 on a Tuesday night. Food was good, portions were inconsistent. Chicken parm was huge, frutti de mar was small. Service was excellent. Music was very loud at 7:00, it was difficult to have dinner conversation. Server said that the volume couldn't be changed.

Unmemorable and unappealing food. Total Identity crisis. Is it Italian? Is it Spanish? Not sure they know themselves. Noticeably indifferent service. Some menu items listed on the menu on Facebook are not on the actual menu. Just not worth it.

Great restaurant! We love the environment and the menu is amazing but this restaurants biggest asset is their staff! The wait staff and hosts are always pleasant and attentive and the bartenders are awesome! Highly recommended!

I was really excited to try the new Junior's restaurant after the long delayed opening. I have been a long time fan of the Colchester and Burlington restaurants and eagerly awaited their grand opening. After having dinner their I must say that I am a bit disappointed. The menu is limited, and the portions are small, but the prices are high compared to the other Juniors locations. I would recommend making the drive to the Colchester location before coming back here.

My husband & I ate here tonight. The interior of the restaurant was surprisingly plain with high ceilings that created a noisy atmosphere. Luckily, there was a two top in the corner where we could get out of the main seating area & it was a pleasant place to sit. Our waitress was very nice. We asked for a little bread before our meal - apparently they don't serve bread normally but she served us several pieces with olive oil. Even though the restaurant was full, the food came out of the kitchen quickly. My entree was the linguine with clams in red sauce & my husband got the chicken piccata. My portion was small & the linguine was overcooked. The sauce was flavorful but for the price I'm not sure that I would get the dish again. My husband really enjoyed his dish - it had an abundance of capers which he thought made the dish more interesting. The check was brought to the table in a brown envelope that had "The Damages" written on the outside. I guess we missed the humor because we both thought that it was in poor taste. There were some interesting dishes on the menu, so we will definitely give it another try.

At our table we had the mussels, prosciutto scallops, pork tenderloin special, blanco pizza, and Caesar salad. Service was okay but food was mediocre.

I wouldn't say this place is Italian as it has Mediterranean flavors, Tapas as appetizers, and American style dishes. It's also fairly dark in there which is perfect for an adult night out, but there are a lot of families (with kids). Tasty dishes and big portions make for a nice night out - but a bit on the pricey side. Try the pancetta wrapped pork chop stuffed with cherries, figs, and herbs.

We had some friends who had been and we're here to go as its close by and we're hoping it might be a place we can frequent. The food was good although it was slightly more expensive than we could do on a regular basis for a full blown night out. Enjoyed the atmosphere. The dim lighting made it feels bit more ... romantic, and they've done a nice job fixing it up from the previous Have a mix of tables and high tops to eat at. Wife thought it was loud but I didn't notice. We had three glasses of wine, the muscles for an appetizer, 2 entrees (one was a bit more $ special) and then the tiramisu and coffee for dessert. With a good tip it was just under $100. You could easily get a dinner with no apps, no dessert, maybe a beer for a LOT less though. Our waitress was great and food was out quick. The menu seemed like it covered a lot of bases and had a nice selection, although it was just printed on some plain paper which made it seem a bit tacky. I'd give it a 3.5 but you can't do half stars. Think it's going to be promising though.

If I could give it less than one star I would. This has been one of the worst restaurant outings recently for us, and it was disappointing because we love the pizza from downtown. Service was awful, no host, which also means no one to tell our server we were there. We moved to the bar after being ignored at a table. That was a mistake. The bartender was awful... Couldn't tell you one good thing about him or his drinks as many other reviewers have also said. On to the food... The only flavor apparent in the food was something like a plastic-y burnt taste. My husband agreed.... Almost not palatable. Anyway, there are dozens of amazing choices in Burlington... This will never compete unless there is a complete staff and menu/management change. Could have gotten way more flavor and fun for less down the street at Buffalo Wild Wings. We had high hopes and wanted to support a neighborhood spot, but the location would be better served with a different restaurant in it. Good luck to you!

For Burlington this is a 4 star place. It is much better than its sister restaurants. It delivers a better product in a much nicer atmosphere. The pizza is stone oven rather than traditional take out pie so in my opinion it is better pizza. The pasta is far better than the other locations. They did a great job converting an old KFC to a casual Italian restaurant. Whether eating at a table or bar, this is a perfect neighborhood alternative to the Downtown restaurants.

Let me start by saying that I love Juniors Colchester! Been going there for years, even before they moved to their current location. Then Juniors downtown opened, pizza is delicious (sad there is no pasta anymore)! I saw a Juniors was coming to rt. 7 and was so excited! After waiting and waiting for them to open, I must say I am rather disappointed. The inside looks nice, but was rather loud, especially for a Monday night. The service was mediocre at best. I ordered the seafood special and it was missing something, the flavor does not compare to Juniors Colchester. My husband loved his thin crust pizza. Overall, not impressed and actually very disappointed. I might try it again because I love the other Juniors locations, hopefully next time is better!

I have always liked Junior's in Colchester, so I was anxious to try the new spot. I got a TO GO Calamari. Pretty simple, I thought. It was greasy, cold, flavorless, and the red sauce with it tasted old. I will definitely give it another try at some point. I will not judge by one encounter.

So glad to have Juniors now on my way home. I think they are going to find that they don't have enough seating once word gets around. Stopped in with a friend on a Wednesday night. Very warm and unassuming though cozy. Ate at the bar which clearly seemed more a place to eat than drink. They had the best butternut squash gnocchi with mushrooms imaginable for an excellent price ($17+\-), also had a small dish mushroom Rissotto balls (can't remember the name) and calamari. This was the first decent calamari I've had in Burlington--- nice and tender inside, golden crispy outside. One doesn't HAVE to order the high calorie dishes, but it was cold and late. The salads looked big and good. A cheery, comfortable noise level --- chatting was easy.

We loved it. A great neighborhood place. Yes, the app list is a little all over the place, but that means there's something to certainly fit your mood. I can back the ciao bella, and saltimbocca (a special at the time) pizzas. Both were baked perfectly and loaded with toppings. The italian burger and chicken parm sandwich were also delicious, served on fresh-baked buns. Service was friendly. The kids noodles w/ cheese were incredible - consider adding a variation to the main menu.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
